Trouble Shooting Tips

  • The on off switch on the wall must be at least a 15 amp on off switch.
  • If you hear a scratching or scraping noise make sure you did not push excess wires into the unit. The result will be the wires scraping against the impeller motor.
  • The product works best in a room with 4 walls that is 20 by 20 with a 10 ft. ceiling or smaller. If your room is larger or is open the rest of the house it may take longer to heat up.
  • If you think the product is not putting out heat you can check it by the following procedure. Turn the unit off, get on a step ladder or stool, hold the blades form moving, put the unit in the heat mode, wait 12 seconds, and feel the heat at the exhaust. You should not be able to hold your hand there long.
  • If your room is cold soaked it will take longer to heat up because the walls, ceiling, and floors are all radiating cold energy and they need to heat up as well. Let the unit run for 3 to 6 hours to heat up a cold soaked room.
  • If you put more then one unit in a room or in rooms that are close to one another you will need to change the dipswitches.
  • If you are having trouble with your remote try the following. Chang the batteries. Also the light kit must be attached to the unit because this is where the antenna is located. Failure to have the light kit on the unit will disable the remote control signal to get to the receiver. Check to see if the power is on at the wall. Check your circuit breaker. Lastly you may need to re set your dipswitches.
  • If you have a unit in a small bedroom and it is getting too hot try leaving the door open or shutting the unit off.
  • If you have trouble with the light kit check the connections or check to see if the bulb has gone bad.
  • If your unit has decreased in performance check and clean the air filter. Dirty filters will decrease the amount of hot air that is exhausted out of the unit.

Question: How can the Reiker Room Conditioner possibly use less energy than my hairdryer?

SMALL HAIRDRYER                THE REIKER ROOM CONDITIONER USES A MAXIMUM
USES 1875 WATTS                 OF 1485 WATTS AND AS LITTLE AS 492 WATTS

Answer:  Once you set the desired room temperature and activate all four of our highly efficient ceramic heating elements you begin heating the room as quickly as possible on less energy than the common hand-held hairdryer. By drawing the risen heated air from adjacent the ceiling for this purpose we put every available warm air molecule to use to heat your room. By starting with 1485 watts (less than your 1875 watt hairdryer) to raise the temperature in your room and then reducing in power use to as low as 492 watts to maintain the temperature.
